Your Furnace and Carbon Monoxide

Fall is the best time of year to have your heating system maintained and tuned up. If there are any issues with your furnace, our NATE certified technicians can fix it before the winter hits. Leaving your furnace to its own devices can be deadly.

What Is Carbon Monoxide?
Furnaces, especially ones that are not well maintained, can leak carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and deadly gas. Even low amounts of carbon monoxide are extremely hazardous to your health.

What You Can Do To Prevent Carbon Monoxide Leaks

  • If you see traces of soot in your home, it is a definite warning sign that something is awry. Call us at (703) 270-0881 for a furnace repair.
  • Have a carbon monoxide detector installed in your home. If you already have one, remember to change the batteries before turning on your furnace for the season.
  • In addition to furnaces, generators can also leak carbon monoxide. Be sure to place your generator in a well ventilated area that is at least a few feet away from your home. Never put your generator inside your home–including the garage or basement.

Having our NATE certified technicians service your furnace can do more than just keep you and your family warm this winter. It could prevent a carbon monoxide leak in your home. If you are interested in keeping your family safe and warm, give us a call at (703) 270-0881.
